    Angry Needle sizing

    Hello
i need help in determining what size and what kind of needle i use. I'm doing a cotton thread project and the pattern calls for a s ize 2 needle which i dont have the mm calls for a 2.75 i have this needle in mm but it is a needle i usually use with yarn. Can i use this needle and get the same effect that i would get with the size 2 any help would be appreciated. Hope i'm not to confusing

Are you using Size 10 cotton thread? If so, the largest hook I use with that would be a 6 which will give you a loose, lacy look. If it is size 3 cotton thread, more like a sport weight yarn, then the larger hook would be appropriate. I tend to use smaller hooks and crochet tighter than most, so I use a size 9 hook on my thread doilies. It may also depend on the item you are making. Hope this helps. If not, please post more information along with your questions.
