    Hi Sep335, it is just like the other ladies said, though I like to put the 2 pieces together, making sure that the stitches line up and join by slip stitching them together - not too tight though.

    for sewing together crochet pieces you may want to check out the tutorials by googling "How to sew crochet squares together" it will give you several different methods of connecting the two pieces together.

    The mattress stitch is a good idea as it is neat and has give. You can sometimes crochet it together with a slip stitch, or sew it with a back stitch.
