    Baby blanket ideas

My niece is having a baby girl in March. I'm making a blanket, dress, sweater, booties & a beanie. She loves blue and did the nursery in baby blue and would like a baby blue blanket that is girly. Does anyone have a very feminine (not too difficult) pattern?

No one? How about a really pretty border that might make it more feminine.

Sort of a real frilly, girly border pattern

She wants light blue but wants it girly. I was thinking either a granny stitch in rows or something very simple so it does not compete with the border

This is a very easy stitch. It makes a very beautiful warm body. It works with a variegated or solid yarn. One of my favorite.

    Forget me not

    works on Multiples of 3

Row 1: ch 2 (which counts as first dc), [dc, ch 2, sc] in 3rd ch from hook, * sk 2 sts, [2 dc ch 2, sc] in next ch, rep from * across, ch 2 (counts as first dc of next row), turn.

Row 2: ch 2, [dc, ch 2, sc] in first ch--2 sp,* sk 2 sts, [2 dc, ch 2, sc] in next ch-2 sp, rep from * across, ch 2 (counts as first dc of next row), turn

    Repeat 2nd row
