I'm fairly new to crocheting, what does Defp mean, and Yoh?

no idea of defp
but FP is front post, maybe DEFP is decrease in front post??

Funny you posted this , because his just came out ans it's got some different ones on it, plus some not on it from the one you posted Harrietta.....so many new techniques are being used now. I compared the 2 lists since I'm learning some new techniques, and I see some abbrev's are just not on both lists, BUT that doesn't mean one is more right or wrong, they're just bringing back, adding new and also combining some old & new techniques together. Wow, pattern following and writing will sure change as these changes occur! Makes it interesting to say the least.

defp isn't on any of the 4+ abbrev charts I have! someone writing the pattern might know what it means but they usually put special notes for unusual stitches or techniques that will come up in the pattern,. Can you contact the designer or pattern writer?

Hi Joanne,
DEfp might have been a mistake. Maybe they meant to write DCfp or FPdc which according to the crochet abbreviations chart means front post double crochet
