Thread: Do you crochet with thread?

I love crocheting with thread, either #3 or #10, although I don't do it very much. It's not as difficult as you would think. I want to make a pretty large size doily for my round coffee table. The table is very wide, about 42 inches across, and I had a big piece of glass cut for it to protect the finish. I'd like to make a big doily to put under the glass.

Jean Marie, I won't make a doily large enough to cover my entire coffee table. I'd like to make one like 20 inches across so the rest of the wood shows.

Hi Pixieglitter,
That'll still be a big project.

I like to crochet with both. I do find yarn and larGerman hooks easier to use.

Hi Lissacc,
You did good on crocheting doll clothes. Did you do it without a pattern?

Thank you, no, I have a lot of the Barbie, and some Ken, crochet patterns. Mostly for the size 10 thread, a few of the sweaters used yarn. The patterns were, most of them, free, from web search or pintrest.

Hi, that is great! I remember my mother crocheting me doll clothes. She even sewed some. I have croched doll clothes for my granddaughter. I love doing it

When I first started to crochet I started out with a steel size 10 hook and very small thread. I mostly work with yarn now, however I did just finish that baby dress and hat with thread that was a first for me. (the picture of that dress and hat is posted under pictures on this forum). I wish I could create the beautiful things (in small thread) that Larisa does but I don't have her skill or talent she is amazing.
My favorite crochet hook for yarn is a G and sometimes E.

I think that will be very pretty. The doily under glass will be protected and your wood table will be shown off beautifully.
