What to do with Scrap Yarn - Thread Two

For the smallest of scraps such as the tails we trim, I save in a sandwich bag or container and in the spring I sprinkle them in bushes and the birds carry them away to help make nests...I got the idea when I found an old nest on the ground that had metal shavings in it, I don't know if they hatched babies in it but it was a sad thought..every now and then I find a nest with bits of yarn in it and just smile hoping I made a difference.

It IS the granny sQuare in a rectangular shape instead of a square. There are 2 ways of doing this. See this link: How to Make a Rectangle Granny
