Granny squares/stash busters
When making grannie squares trying to get rid of a lot of misc left over yarn do you try to keep all the yarn the same brand and thickness or do you mix brands but keep the same thickness or do you just mix it all? Thanks in advance.

Hi Debbie,
I mix brands, and sometimes even types of yarn (worsted and cotton), but always keep the thickness the same. They always turn out good!

Debbie, I try to keep the thickness all the same. If I am making squares in #4 , then make one in #3 it will be smaller and not fit in the Group. If I use a #6 it will be bigger than the others. I learned that way back when I tried to make a bedspread with blocks. I tried giving it away but as I made it left handed no one wanted it so it ended in the trash. Margaret

Wanted to add also to keep them the same type in case it has to be washed. You don't want something pure wool that would felt while the others are acrylic. Hope I haven't confused you.
