    Crosstitch on crochet

Does anyone know the secret of cross stitching on afghan stitch to get the back to look

Neat and the best way to change colors. I have made many afghans and crosstitced various pictures

On them however am never satisfied with the way the back looks.

I have made only one counted cross stitch afghan on panels of afghan stitch. I treated it as I would any other cross stitch and wove in my ends carefully. It looks quite neat but I don't think one can do cross stitch that is as pretty as the front. betty

    Hi Ggmom,
Have you tried the back stitch? I know that when I do plastic canvas the stitches are:when stitches are right to left or top to bottom you do the stitches the regular way(going forward) when stitches are left to right or bottom to top you do the stitches backwards. But when I am going top to bottom and then to the right I figure out which way looks better a forward stitch or backward stitch or if I go from bottom to top and then to the left I figure out which way looks better. Plastic canvas stitches are similar to cross stitch.
