What crochet items have you made or want to make with the shell stitch?

I really like how the shell stitch looks in crocheting projects. I think the shell stitch is a great stitch for baby blankets as well as other crochet projects.

What crochet items have you made or want to make with the shell stitch?

Hi Barbara, I made an afghan for Christmas with shell pattern I love the shell pattern and I know I will be using it for another afghan maybe two this Christmas. An afghan using the shell pattern and a bulky yarn can go really quick besides looking nice and being warm it's a win-win I think!! HugsWinnie

I have used the shell stitch in various sized afghans as well as for scarves, hats and prayer shawls.

I've used it on baby afghans, scarves, full sized afghans and dish cloths.

I am currently using a shell stitch on a dress I'm making for my 3 year old. It's gonna be so pretty when I get it done!
This is the first time I've used a shell stitch and think its beautiful. It recently threw my for a few loops only because the arm hole just looked so wrong and out of place.

I made an afghan for my grandson this winter using the shell stitch. He was so happy with it and uses it on his bed now. Also use this stitch to make dishtowels. It looks so pretty hanging in the kitchen. I have made baby blankets using a various types of shell stitches.

Hi, a quick question. When you start the blanket, it's on a chain stitch. When you get to the top it has the shell stitch. Is that how it's supposed to look?

    Hello,

What pattern are you asking about, or are you asking a general question about using the shell stitch when making a blanket? We would love to help you and every pattern may be different. Please let us know...thank you!
