my attempt at a doily

I'm half way around on the 8th row, and it says to ch 2 and hdc in next hdc. My next stitch on the 7th row is a dc, a ch 2 and a hdc. Is there supposed to be a dc to go into for my next stitch because I have a dc as the next stitch to go into. Maybe there's an easier doily or tablecloth I can do w/thread or maybe you have another idea for a wedding gift. Here's the pattern.

I tried another doily but didn't like the double treble stitch so I too that part out and did a sc.

Would love to see it when you are done. Looks like a lovely pattern. Sometimes I have trouble with finding the sc into the dc when there is no dc. etc. Could be just a pattern error. Congratulations for moving forward with this pattern.

Hi,
I started row 10 but it didn't look right. I took out what I did on row 10 and went back to row 9. I hadn't finished row 9 so I finished row 9 and did row 10. Now I'm ready to start row 11.
