This is difficult because no matter what project I am working on, I really like it when it is done. I am not sure I like one over the other though. I do prefer yarn over thread items. But it just depends on who is asking for what project at the time. I am always up for a challenge. Seems my daughter keeps me in prjoects to do for herself and the grandkids and then there is always the charitable items to make. Anyway you hook it, just love it!

You are SO right. It is hard to state a preference, and I bet in the end for most of us, we love what we are working on right now and if it gets stuffed in the UFO (unfinished object) bag at the back of the closet, it probably wasn't the right project to start in the first place.

Well, if you already do vests, cardigans are just vests with sleeves. [grin]
Gauge is always tricky...especially row gauge. And then there is how the garment stretches from gravity depending on the yarn, and the thickness of the project, etc. So many variables to control when crocheting a garment!
Have you ever tried tunisian? It's much easier to get consistent gauge.

That is interesting about tunisian. I enjoy doing it but it is hard on my hands. It would probably be more flexible if I could do wool. Also there isn't much down here in Texas that we want that thick!

Aha...Tunisian in yarn wouldn't be that great would it...
Here are pictures of airier tunisian stitches.
The green one is done in worsted cotton (Sugar & cream) and the pale blue one is in cashmere sock yarn, but it could be done in any lightweight yarn. I think I'm going to design a top in the tunisian lace, but I have to see which yarn that is thin and soft that most people would use.
