    Confused about a pattern

I have a pattern for a Woody and bullseye from Toy story that a coworker gave me and the pattern just says acrylic yarn, but does not tell what ply to do the dolls in. It does say to use 2.0-2.5mm crochet hook. What size hook is this and what ply would I use for the dolls? I figure with a small hook, 4 ply would be to big. Help!!!!!

I use red heart yarn with a F hook and crochet tightly so there are no space (holes) between the stitches. I also use a DK (double knit) which is about a 3 type yarn and a C hook.

I found a chart thats has all the needle sizes on it. Its a Hook Size Chart. Hook Sizes and Crochet Thread I would use an F hook as well. Maybe 3-ply yarn.

    Maybe even a B or c hook.
