Hat Height Measurement?
Hello everyone! I'm am fairly new to this forum so I would appreciate any help I can get. I have been making lots of hats recently, I have been able to find head circumferences and hat height measurements online, however I am confused as to where to measure for the hat height? Is it from the crown of the head to above the ear? below the ear? I'm confused! =)
Thanks!

I'm late, but I measure from crown to bottom of ear, especially for little ones. I add enough after that in order to have a cuff to turn up for the youngest children to keep their ears warm. Older children (those who can still be cajoled into wearing a hat) seem not to like the cuff.

When I do hats (especially for women) I used my own head as a model. I like ears covered and often make it longer and cuff it up so that the ears are a bit warmer. Some patterns just go to below the ear, some are longer.
