Yes Cricket, I believe it means rip it until you get the mistake removed and then precede.

i have uneven sides happen because i crochet into the sc chain i made to turn to do the next row i have used bobby pins on each stitch to keep the count correct. the counter is used on your wrist to keep track of rows and i use bobby pins for special stitches or to count pattern parts( using different color bobby pins for each part of the project. ie working shell stitch every 10 stitches and things like that. Annies Attic has a row counter and instructions.
