I noticed she chained 2 for dc. It's chain 3 for dc and chain 2 for hdc.
I didn't know how to put 2 links or you tube videos on one post.

One easy way to add another video, is to post the first one. Then, reply to your own thread with another you tube link.

I actually chn 2 at times at the end of a row when I do dcs, I find it seems to eliminate the gap. And I do the sm chn 2 for hdc. But I can see where this may be confusing to some.

I have read crochet instructions that give you the option of using 2 or3 chains to start the beginning double crochet. The previous writer is right it leaves less gap. I always two when making afghans so when I start the border it looks tighter and neater.

I always use 2 chains even if it says 3 chains because it is a lot neater.

Learn something new everyday! I never thought of chaining two on a turning chain to reduce the gap. Thanks ladies!

yes, I learned that here too, ch 2 works great on thread crochet as well; My reasoning is like MeerKat because it looks neater; I have never tried the dec method but will file that away for a rainy day. Happy crocheting ladies.

I also just ch 2 for the same reason, it makes the turn tighter and neater by eliminating the gap.

Thanks Barbara G! and Thanks everyone else that told me about chaining 2 for dc so there isn't a gap. How does a person find something they've posted or something someone else posted?
