    Tunisian tutorial

Thank you little drummer and Judi...
The tunisian stitch is pretty easy, it's kind of like knitting but easier.
If you can follow the pattern on the graph you can do this.
Here's a link to a really nice tutorial.

I'll be crocheting a man's beanie using this method
and adding his nick name to the hat.
    Keep practicing Ladies and...
    GO BLACKHAWKS!!!

It's not a c2c pattern Brenda but really very easy once you get it.

    Thanks Swmp,
I sewed a large piece of black fleece which was great for hiding all the little tails.
I sewed the edges by hand and made a few holding stitches throughout so it wouldn't pucker apart.

What do you mean to have the same amount of stitches on both sides? do you mean left and right sides and not front and back?

    Thanks Jean Marie,
When I went to sew on the backing I wanted to make sure
that the blanket was centered on the fleece. I counted the stitches to make it equal.
The Indian head is also part of the graph pattern, only single crochet stitches.

I imagine the mouth and lines on the face and lines on the feathers and cap are embroidered.

Here's the graph picture, it's all included in the pattern.
