I was wondering why this is called origami because origami is a Japanese paper folding art so I tried to find the pattern with no luck. I don't need the pattern I just wondered why it was origami.

I like it...will try making larger because the person I want to make this for wears 1-2X. It looks like a cropped, open kimono cardigan so perhaps the Japanese theme expanded to include origami. Just a thought.

It is a Bernat pattern, and I do believe it being a kimono type cardigan plays into it.
