Hi Jean Marie, The first video I like that stitch I tried that stitch 3 days a go to make handles for my tote I have been working on forever. I didn't use it because it was not stiff enough. When I was knitting there was at stitch just like this to make a cord. I like the look.
The second video is the crab stitch I used that for the top of my tote to make it sturdy. It looks like she is pulling the yarn through both loops at once and not making a single crochet so it might be more sturdy than the one I did.
I like both of these and have used these stitches a lot.
