I found a great video that talks about starting/ending rows

Hey all, I've been telling some of you how my work doesn't end straight as I don't know how to start rows sometimes. I found a great video that shows me what it means by chain 1,2, or 3 and skipping the first sc, dc, or whatever is needed. I want to give a big THANK you to all of you who have replied to any of my posts because I'm so new at this forum stuff and new to crocheting. I really enjoy this site and the support that you all give for beginners.
