    Annalia, the crochet curmudgeon

Would love to be able to knit also, but that causes too much pain. Right now, I'm ISO a pattern for a shrug type garment that uses Super Bulky yarn. Have 5 skeins of Silky Twist to use. They each have 130 yds., but it only takes 7 st, and 9 rows to make a 4" square on a "P" hook.
    So hello everyone.

    Hello,

Welcome to the group! It is nice to meet you and have you here! My name is Barbara from NE Oklahoma. I see you are from Arizona! Are you looking for a crochet top?

There's a shrug pattern on Lion's site that might do.

Annalia: Welcome. Sounds like the shrugs you are making will be perfect. Are you going to give to nursing home patients? I am from Eastern Washington. I was recently in Denver visiting my mother-in-law in an asst living facility and noticed that many of the residents are chilly!

Lion has several, but none were what my friend wanted. Thank you for thinking of it. Ann

This shrug is for a friend. She buys the yarn, and pays me for the finished project so I get to play with yarns I couldn't afford, and make money too.

My friend fell in love with a geisha wrap, that I will try to translate to the yarn I have. There would be no sense in trying to follow it exactly - even if the yarns were similar weight ( which they aren't), the fancy work would be completely lost with the silky twist yarn, not to mention the purple haze color. It is :
