Hi, Landon,
You say you are self taught. How long have you been crocheting? The longer you're at it, the more you will learn. I was taught the basics and the rest I've learned as I went. I've been crocheting for 37 years. The best advice I can give is don't ever be afraid of a pattern. Sometimes reading a pattern will scare you. If you sit with your hook and yarn and follow it step by step, you can make anything! Go from easy to intermediate to the more complex patterns. Nobody is perfect at first. Try scarves, pot holders, small projects to begin, too.
Good Luck Friend,
Jamie Mae

Hi, Val and Jamie Mae! Thank you for your warm welcomes!
Jamie Mae, I have been crocheting for about a year now. I got hung up on the ends of my rows. I finally found out through watching tutorials that I was turning my work around counterclockwise and the yarn got tangled up too. So, now I turn it correctly and am working on making my tension even. I know how to single crochet, now I am working on learning half double crochet. So far, all I have made is small dish towels, pot holders, that kind of thing.
Thank you for your advice, I am slowly learning the crochet lingo too! I see so many beautiful pieces, cute pieces, I want to make those too!
I so appreciate all the warm welcomes!
Best Wishes,
Landon
