Laying layers of wool on the table in different directions , depending what quality project you need ( stiff, stretchy etc), and after making it wet and soapy, rub gently with hands to entangle the fibers, and then continue shaping it up, but not so gently as the fibers entangled already)))

I saw a film once where sheep herders brought their wool to be felted and it was done by men as it is hard on your hands.
It was a long process to get to the point of having some fabric. Some of the first batches were made for Monks and their garment was very stiff and scratchy. We have come a long way from all that work (I think) you can let us know all about felting.
I like your post they are very interesting.

The seamless flower meadow dress was done by felting?

Yes, Jean- Marie, the dress is made with wet felting and a flower in model's hair too))) I made the dress 2 years ago, it took me 2 days to make)))

Yes, Spoula, it is a very laborious process, but it is quite efficient. That is why I like to switch between labour-intensive felting and calming crochet.
