Thanks libertylady64, Thats exactly what I've been doing. Those videos are great. I haven't started yet, I need to get a needle. It's hard for me to get to a store, I need a wheelchair to go anywhere. I just ordered one on-line, so I have to wait 10 days to get started. Thanks again.

Hi willie, Thanks for the offer, I really appreciate it. I just ordered a needle on line from JoAnns fabric & crafts, but I have to wait 10 days until I get it. If I wouldn't have to use a wheelchair to get anywhere, I would have gone to the store myself. But I guess all good things take time, like my Mom used to say. Thanks again.

We all do what we have to do because of the love of crocheting! I'm sure you have tried other ways to get things, like ask a neighbor, etc. But maybe you could hook up with somebody on this site that may be able to help you get the yarn, needles, you need! Would you mind telling us where you are located? Maybe somebody would help! Otherwise-have fun with your crocheting when you finally get your hook!!! I see Willie has offered to help by mail! I was thinking more like somebody in person !

Hi Maryjane. thanks for your reply. I have a good friend who lives in the building i am in (a senior high rise) and when I see her I'm going to ask her to get me things. She's always doing things for somebody. Thank you very much.

Hi Stitcher
Congratulations. Yes you can do it even at 74. You have my vote of confidence. My mother learned how to crochet when she was a senior and she turned out some interesting projects. I believe that the fact that you watched your mother that you must have had an interest even back then. It also tell me that just from watching her; the information that you absorbed is buried waiting to surface. I learned a lot from my mother watching her mend clothes with a sewing machine. I learned the concepts.
I am a new member myself but I have read enough posts to know that when it comes to getting help from the other members you have joined the right club. Also the How-to videos available on the internet are invaluable. Keep us posted on your progress....Diane
