Hi
My name is Ellen and I am new. I love to crochet but have a lot of difficulty reading patterns. I mainly do prayer shawls for our church.

Hi and welcome. I couldn't read a pattern until I found bobwilson123. She has several videos where she has a written pattern and provides it to you also then she reads the pattern, explains how to read it then shows how it translates into crochet. I watched two of these videos and now I can pretty much read any pattern.

Welcome from Alabama, we're so glad you're here. Thankfully, when I was very young and my mom was teaching me how to crochet, she also taught me how to read patterns. I've recently made a few things from using graphs, too.
Check out some YouTube videos about how to read patterns. Once you get the hang of it, it'll be very easy for you.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes and the tips on Videos. I confess that I had not ever thought to search for them. I will watch some and let you all know how they help. Thanks again.
