Hi Susan! I'm Karen (CrochetKaren). I started crocheting in my twenties and then got busy with my children. Just picked it up again 3 years ago (58 yrs old now....where did all that time go???). My passion is truly crocheting now, especially since I'm home mostly dealing with arthritis. I look forward to sharing ideas, patterns, pics, and our creations! Take good care.

Hi Susan
I am 62and Gran other of four 3girls 1boy. Not expecting anymore
Congrats on your new arrival
I am game to try any ideas and the afghan quilt is my own creation
It is in honor of my Mom who quilted all her life and began crocheting years
ago and created beautiful things
She also knit and crafts. Jack of all trades
Mom died in 2005, and left a lot of yarn and quilts unfinished
I vowed I would complete her work
I had a car accident in April 2006, left me injured and unable to do
Much for a few years
Then my brother died in June 2006 and I was still grieving Mom
When my kid sister died in Sept 2009 , I had a bad time for a long while
But then I decided to start crocheting again and to finish what Mom started
I work on the afghan quilt and think of the family I have lost
That's when you seem to put your heart and so into your work
Well I have jabbered on hope all is we and thanks for the welcome
" you have my name" what does that mean?
I am Joy

Thanks for the welcome I have put info on thread to Susan hope you add
Some of your life too and what inspires you
I used to crochet doilies with small needles and thread but I have
Osteoarthritis now so holding small needles and thread is a challenge
So what I do is. Ro get douse with larger needs and yarn and that
makes for great table covers, small and large tables
I give them away to my friends and family
If you have any great patterns I would love to have them
If you need anything from me just ask
Hope to hear from you soon
Joy

Hi Blueyukon! I'm Karen and just joined the community, as well. I began crocheting in my early 20's many years ago and lost track of that skill while raising my two girls. Picked it up again about 3yrs ago, and now at the age of 58 am delving deeply into all aspects of crochet....and did I mention I'm loving it! I like to crochet afghans, baby blankets, scarves, and have now begun purses, placemats, and coasters for Christmas gifts. I also crochet dog and cat sweaters and blankets for our local animal rescue org....and scarves for the homeless. I love giving back. I look forward to talking with you more soon. Take Good Care!

Hi Susan! I'm Karen. Originally from New York, have been living in Las Vegas since 1996. Now that I'm disabled due to arthritis I spend a lot of time crocheting, researching my family history, reading and cooking. I crochet dog and cat sweaters and blankets for our local animal rescue org as well as scarves for the homeless. I love finding any way I can to give back. I'm self taught, as well....and still learning new stitches. Age 58. Look forward to hearing back from you! Take Good Care.

Hi Blueyukon and welcome. It's nice to meet you. I enjoy meeting new fellow crafters from different places around the country. I crocheted in my early 20's and then got busy with life and children and forgot that I knew how to crochet. I picked up my crocheting again about 5 years ago and have made a lot of things for my children and grandchildren. Mainly I have been crocheting things for the girls in my family. My mama passed away 15 years ago and I found out she made several quilts. I didn't know she could do that. Wish I knew then. I have a quilt she made and I plan on one day giving it to my daughter. Look forward to seeing your quilt.
