Nice to meet you I am Joy by the way
I'm glad you found your mothers quilt it will be a
treasure to hand down to your daughter
My Mom did so many quilts I lost count but she made sure
everyone that got married got one and when she passed in 2006
she left many tops unfinished for those who hadn't married yet
I gave quilt tops to those grandchildren left who had not married
They would finish it themselves
There were 3 left and my 2 sisters and I took them to finish ourselves
But unfortunately my kid sister died suddenly in 2009 and now her daughter
Has it
Mom had also started a baby quilt but did not finish it
It was embroidered and before my kid sister died her daughter had
A baby and my sister Patricia and Kris and I embroidered it and quilted
It for the baby it will be an heirloom for her as well
Funny how things happen I was just looking thru boxes of stuff my Mom
Left and I happened upon it and it was meant to be finished and given
To my great neice
My neice was expecting her second child but my sister died before
Seeing her grandson, broke all our hearts when she died so suddenly
But they all live on in the things we make
I have several unfinished quilts to see together and quilt from Mom even
new packages she didn't get to do
No one se in my family does quilting so I am on my own with them
I will get them done now that I am retired
Kids are out of the house just my husband and two dogs
Hope all is well with you keep up your work it is all worth it when
someone tells you how beautiful your work is, even though it took ages
to weave in all those ends
Keep in touch and if you need anything just ask have done a lot of things
I will have the afghan- quilt done shortly
I also like doing puzzles and I glue them and frame them so I keep busy
