    Smile Hi! I'm new.

My name is Phyllis. I love crafts, including crochet. I have an office job and find that crafts open up another side of me that can be creative and a lot of fun. I live in Canada and right now I'd have to agree with the term "the frozen north" to describe it. When the weather is like this I like to hunker down and do something cozy and "homey".

Hi Susan MJ, I sew a little - just made 2 pairs of curtains and am working on a quilt (only my second one ever). I would like to get a pattern for an afghan I saw a woman making when my dad was in the hospital. It had a plain background with a huge red rose in the centre. She said it was just one simple stitch but I have no idea what kind of a stitch it was. It looked more like a knit than a crochet stitch but she was using a crochet hook. I've been looking on the web but haven't found anything yet.
    Happy New Year!!!

Hi Phyllis and welcome! Yes, this winter has been something else already, hasn't it. I am grateful for all the afghans I've made over the years as they are really coming in handy right now!
