Banning Members for Spamming

Dear members,

We have had some individuals who have starting signing up for a user ID and spamming on this site. Please read the following:

Members: Most of the spamming has been posted in this general chit chat forum. Spammer accounts are being banned and threads deleted. If you see an out of character thread, please do not click on any links within the post. We will ban the member, delete the thread, as well as block the IP address from which it came. Thank you for your patience through these times.

Spammers: Spam is not welcome on this site. If you attempt to place spam anywhere on Crochet Talk - you will be banned and blocked. Spamming takes away from the pleasure of the forum and we ask that you NOT spam here.

Thanks Barbara for all you do to keep this site(ct) enjoyable and free of spam. We also have AVG on the computer.
I go to the New Posts on ct to see what the message is except I open the newsletters.

Jean Marie, at first I didn't see the spam message either, but I believe if you look down at the lowerr corner of the screen you will see there are page numbers ...mine is up to 9 pages now. Click on the page numbers until you go back to page number one and there is an original message about spamming from Barbara. I THINK that is the message she is referring to...It is old but to the point. (Barbara, correct me if I am wrong if you see this) I just now read all 9 pages and they are good reading. redhead/Patty

Spamming is joining the community just to promote your own product or cause. Only for the purpose of advertising, or causing discord (in some situations).
