There are many people who get this. For some it is called degenerative disc disease or they may have degenerative spine disease. It is good to get it checked out if it becomes bothersome. Some people may also have arthritis which creates some additional growth in the areas they have it in.
Sometimes taking a product with glucosamine in it will help lubricate the joints in the body. I have been taking Osteo Bi-Flex when I have pain in my joints and some cricking noises. The only thing I don't like about this product is the pills are like horse pills - but they work wonders for me when I need them for a couple of days. Then, I am fine for a while.

Yes, usually when it's bone on bone it's osteoarthritis. It can also be degenerative disc disease. I told my mom about ten years ago to start taking the glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM supplement, but she didn't. Now she has developed the bone-on-bone situation in her left shoulder and her left hip, and she is currently in a rehab center to recuperate after the hip surgery (she'll b e 87 next month). I was told by a nurse a long time ago that if we all lived long enough, everyone would have arthritis. And I was also told that once the cartilage is gone, the G/C/MSM can't help that joint anymore. So when I started to see the beginnings of arthritis in my right hand, I started taking the G/C/MSM supplement. I just recently switched to Nature Made Triple Flex because it's doing a better job for me (no joint pain for now). So, I have no idea if this supplement will help me in the long run, but It's helping now and that's good enough for me!
