Hi all. Out and about today some too. Otherwise I worked on my prayer request book. We found the yarn store and once I get home I post some pics of the magnificent store. Oh my! My husband stays home. He is agoraphobic, which means he is afraid to leave the house. He has not been anywhere except to the doctor in the last 12 years. He has severe panic attacks at just the thought of leaving the house to go somewhere. However, he can go out into the yard. Most people with this illness can't even get close to the outside door without panic. I think we are lucky he can at least get outside.

    Wink

Last night I got hoagies for the bachelor party (honestly, they were going to go from work, preparty at the Phillies game, then go to the club, then back to my sons to finish the keg, and only grab something to eat at the game! that would have been one sick group! ha ha.

Then, I took my granddaughter shopping, then we got to go out to eat. I told her she was a delightful date at the Italian Delight!

we went home and played a new board game, then watched a movie. it was really nice spending "grown up" time with my 4 yr. old sweetie.

today I spent cleaning my moms house again. I'm finished. don't get me wrong. there's always more to do. But I'm drawing the line here. it looks really good. I put pots of flowers outside. and I cleaned
things I haven't cleaned in my house in years. now the person who wanted to see it tomorrow never got back to me with a time. oh well. if she passes, the realator gets it, and all I'm doing is keeping the plants alive!

of course, that leaves all the paper work part of the Estate to do.

    Good Morning Everyone!
Back from New Jersey late last night! We had to take a different route to get there since we had a trailer in tow with our garden tractor and generator to take care of that awful job at our farm. We normally take a couple of beautiful Catskill mountain roads then on to the Garden State Parkway, which is a toll road. The tolls are pretty steep and it depends on how many axles you have. So with the trailer we had 3 axles, which is only one more than a regular vehicle of course..haha...but they really charge a bunch more for that 3rd axle. So anyway we had to go non toll roads there and back. We traveled down into Pennsylvania then into New Jersey. It took us almost 7 hours down and back....horrible!!! Next time we are going to pay the tolls....

The grass at the farm was past my knees we could have baled it for hay LOL...my son in law came with his Farm-All tractor and helped with the cutting, but the worst was the vines growing up the house. We have beautiful wisteria there in the spring but by summer it takes over and with now beautiful blossoms it grew up to the second floor! I am so annoyed at the people who were supposed to take care of this for us...my arms are all scratched up from pulling the vines and cutting the vines. We just tossed everything into the drive way and since we have to go back to New Jersey ....again....next Saturday for my niece's graduations party, we will stay at my daughter's house and go back and finish the clean up of the vines....Anybody want to buy this place! It is already approved for 15 single family homes with the township!!!! The developers all try to "low ball" us with offers but we are trying to hold out....

Micaelina is home and we are practicing her driving skills for the next few days since her road test is Thursday and because of her cast on her broken foot from back in June she hasn't driven since then. Well now she has no cast and is moving around pretty good so to practicing we will go....

Hahaha...watch the vegan jokes girls...LOL...I am vegan since 1991...well when we had our goats I did enjoy the goats milk...but for the most part I remain vegan. I haven't had a bit of meat since 1990. Went vegan a year later...then began with the goats milk to a point when we got our goats in 1998 and dryed them off in 2006 before moving to New York. I use soy milk and almond milk.

I have to admit I do cheat with ice cream once in a while but I also make Ice cream out of frozen bananas and sometimes out of tofu. But is is a long process....I make yogurt for my family from organic cow's milk but my son makes mine from soy milk for me when he can. It is a different process but you use the same yogurt maker. My son, being a chef understands that stuff....

I make cheeses from nutritional yeast and quick oats and agar. I sometimes buy vegan cheese in Walmart but it gets expensive.....

My 2 oldest kids were raised vegan from that time until they became adults. My oldest daughter who is 33 remained vegetarian so she eats some cheeses eggs and cow's milk...but only organic. Her husband is a meat eater but she will not cook it for him and he respects that. So he is vegetarian at home and eats meat out. I don't think my daughter even knows how to cook meat.....My son, who is 30 and who is a chef returned to being a full fledged omnivore, being a chef I supposed he had to taste what he eats. He did work in a vegan restaurant for a bit when he graduated culinary school and was still vegan, but when he began working at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City it was all over.....

When Micaelina was born, it was 1992 and we were straight out vegans then. All of us...so Micaelina never had an egg or animal's milk until we got our goats and chickens, and she was 8 then. Her first milk was goat's milk and her first egg was from our own chickens. She remains pretty much vegan at home and will eat cheeses when she is out. She never drank a glass of cow's milk, except for ice cream now and yogurt now and never tasted meat of any kind.

Friends that are my age... 58...do not understand how I teach dance such long hours all week...I suppose my diet explains it. I try to remain thin although these past 5 weeks with no work I think I definitely put on a few pounds...I like bread and pasta too much....LOL...I go back to work on Wednesday and Thursday for the next 3 weeks then off again until after Labor Day when the kids go back to school and I will be in full swing again until May....I like it better when I have work, I don't feel so lazy....and I don't eat so much...LOL

I am not vegan or vegetarian. However, I rarely eat meat. I do like chicken, but can leave the other meats alone. I love fish. But, then again every once in a while I MUST have a really good gooey hamburger with everything. Then I satiated for a long while. I thought about giving up meat entirely and discussed it with my doctor. She told me that for me it would not be a good idea. I have pernicious anemia, and need B-12 shots every 3 weeks. I can't take B-12 supplements, and meat is the only place to naturally get B-12. So I eat meat, in a limited amount.

Trude: It sounds like you really had a good trip and be safe going home. Want to see all the yarn you got!!!! Is Psycho Suzy's in Minneapolis. Can't remember if I told you that our son said there was a Broadway Pizza in Rogers, which is very close to St. Michael. I am glad your husband can at least go outside and be in the yard. Is he able to do or like to do yard work? My hubby does not! You are a very special lady and it is so nice to get to know you in the past few days. Have a good Sunday!

Teri: What a lot of traveling and work. This is the first summer we have been home all summer. For the past 9+ years we have driven to take care of my aunt and uncle's house, my folks, Tom's folks and his mother, visiting grandkids in NY and MN. It feels good to get the work done but you get exhausted. And now you start work this week. I am sure Mic will get her driver's license and then she can help run errands!!!

JoyAnn: I am glad you got your mom's house ready! I used to hate when people would call and say they would come by and then never show up. We used to drive 6 hours back and forth to make those appt. We did turn it over to a realtor and then she proved not very good so we got another one and she was perfect and the house sold, badaboom!!!!

I love a good steak but we don't have it very often 2 times per year maybe. I love a good burger too. I buy frozen salmon filets at Costco and grill them simply with butter and salt and pepper! My brother was a vegetarian for some years and ate a lot of lentils, peanut butter, tofu etc.

Bev: I am thinking about your wonderful garden!!!

Have a good weekend all of you. Hugs, Shirley
