a mini vacation at home...well, one can have scented for the picnic idea...even it you have to eat inside some pine scent; Let's say you visited the big trees in CA, maybe you could put up some pic of your vacation and pretend you are there again; then take those down and put up some new ones and kinda vroom vroom around the room and say here's our next stop sweetie...LOL Love the thought, hope you guys have a great mini vacation.

Kaye, pics and authentic foods are great ideas! Thanks so much!
Anaisa, a trip around the world sounds like fun! I love scents and food, what a treat! Thanks for the ideas!
MsBhaven, staycation is a word that's familiar to me. Now, that I'm planning one, I'll have to begin using the word. Yes, these are great hobby-related ideas! I can really use your idea and center it around one or several of my hubby's hobbies. Thanks so much MsBhaven!Last edited by Butterflyrose; 04-16-2013 at 12:17 PM.

I found it Beverly! I was thinking a lot of the same things! Say you want to spend a week in Hawaii then put Hawaiin decorations all through the house, with Hawaii music and foods! A week at the beach all the music or sounds of the ocean set out beach towels and umbrella I can send you lots of seashells that I have bought or got from our weekend trips to the beach last summer! I would plan how long you want to stay at your vacations or if you just want to change it daily! It is pretty much the same as others have said! LOVE YOUR FRIEND MANDA!

I know in my case even though I lived in Galveston which is rich in history as well as attractions I never took advantage of them. Maybe take a guided tour of the city and see it in a different light. Have a themed party light with special people. assist in a nursing home or food kitchen. See a play or musiccal.

If you like to decorate, have a theme of Hawaii. Get the decorations, get music or ocean waves. Have some Hawaii cocktails.. Order take out food.
Have fun.
