Hi ladies! I hear you so well with all the meds, nobody knowing what you have, dr not understanding why you are in so much pain, other dr's saying your faking it just for pain pills nothing showing on xrays except bulging discs nonoperatable. Lyrica , Cymbalta, and Celebrex caused me to have so many different problems dizziness, nausea, shaking, and other things. Flexerill made me very irritable we called the ..tch pill. Pain meds they tried so many different types they work for awile then I come ammuned to them, they make me gain too much weight it was so frustrating the dr that diagnosed me moved to Florida. I used to love a nice long hot bath or shower now I can only handle a shower for 10 to 15 min I have to take a soma about an hour before I get a shower otherwise my husband would help me back to bed. I have the rhemotoid arthritis as well. My spleen ruptured because of some that didn't mix. I could go on but you ladies understand how unbearable, frustrating, confusing, irritating and much more fibro can be. It is real nice to talk to someone who understands! LOVE YOUR FRIEND MANDA!

It really is nice to talk to others who understand and have been there, are there every day. Judy, no on the Lyrica. I am also on the Neurotin to hopefully help with the nerve pain I have. It helped at first but lately it hasn't been. I am on thyroid meds because my thyroid runs low, Nexium for GERD and I have tramadol for pain, but that doesn't help much anymore either. I also have 2 nose sprays for when my allergies act up. When my hands start burning, ice helps me more than anything I have tried. I think it is a tendonitis but I haven't found a doctor who can tell me what causes the hand pain and I have been to specialists about it. So I ice it and try to keep trucking along..............I am sorry that we share these illnesses but I am grateful that we can talk freely about it.

Can yawl sleep in a regular bed? I have been sleeping in a hospital bed for about 10 years now. Either there or my recliner, I can't sleep flat on my back, it would be too painful.

My doctor prescribed me a gel mattress, I have about 8 pillows. It is funny how all of you mention recliners, my dad gave me his big soft leather recliner it's like a big pillow! When we watch movies in living room I race for the recliner, then kids grab all my pillows so I will lay on couch next to hubby!

Oh, Billiebob, that is so sweet of you to say!! I am so grateful for all the access I have and have had to therapy. Do I wish my life could have been different, of course I do, but not as badly as I used to. I am building MY life now, as I want it to be. I now have a very solid support network around me, online and in person. People actually spend their money on my work and to me, there just isn't much that is better than that. I am consistently happy on a daily basis now and I am grateful for every single day now. That monster is behind me now, she no longer rules my life.

Manda, what is the gel mattress like? I sleep with a bunch of pillows too. I have to prop up my shoulders and arms so they are level with my neck or pain begins.

I was diagnosed with chronic fatique way back in the late 70's or early 80's. Can't plan to do anything after lunch. Have to rest. If it doesn't get done in the A M it just doesn't get done. All in all I am in good health for my age, so I am blessed. Just gets frustrating when your mind wants to do things and your body can't let you. Also have severe low blood sugar and have to carry food with me every where I go. It falls the lowest in the afternoons so thats another reason we don't plan things then. But at least I can get out of bed every morning and play on computer or crochet.

A gel mattress is awesome! LOL! At nursing homes they give them to patients who have bed sores or back problems and other things. It is like a foam mattress but gel it forms with your body, there is gel in between a thin layer of foam. We gave 1 of our sons our queen size bed cuz it was too hard and a friend of ours gave us a pillow top mattress but it is too hard and this one is almost just right! The only problem is it is a twin size mattress and my husbands insurance won't cover for him one so our king size bed has a 4 inch thick mattress on top of the bed so it is hard to snuggle with my ANGEL! We put a foam mattress on his size but sheets barely fit even with the gel mattress. LOVE YOUR FRIEND MANDA!

Blossom I understand you so well also! I have get things done early so I can rest or function. We have to go grocery shopping and I was hurting all night and so was my hubby. It takes both of us because I can not walk around store without hurting, then I am so worn out I just want to sleep. I get so frustrated cuz I can't do to much by myself, sometimes I just have to get out and go by myself. I am sorry blossom I got off track but I do understand what you are going through! LOVE YOUR FRIEND MANDA!

I have found that if you have pain, people just don't believe it can be as bad as you are saying.. They can't see pain, so to everyone you are just faking it to get sympathy.
