Crockpot Cooking

My husband makes a wonderful game hen and bean stew in the crock pot; We got a nice pot from JC penny; we had that coupon and waited for a sale and so we got a really good one within our budget. Anyways, he smokes the game hens early in the am; He just made a nice dinner and his great grandmother apple pie for our friends anniversary; we all sit around and talk about it still; like the idea of making applesauce in it; I make applesauce cake so having homemade applesauce is very appealing.

I just got anew crock pot set.It wasa6-quart crock pot that you can program with a stop time and then it just goes to warm.That way if I am not home to shut it off right away, the food doesn't burn. The other part of the set was a mini warmer crock pot that you can use for dips and sauces. I am going to try it for some side dishes like cooking fresh green beans or corn to go with the main dish.
