Although we live in a very small town in NW MN, there is a huge greenhouse business located here that produces hundreds of thousands of plants a year for commercial and wholesale businesses. With the closing of all of the churches for Easter and people practicing social distancing, they were left with 75,000 unsold Easter lilies on Good Friday. Anyone driving past their business was offered 2 plants for free. Their masked and gloved employees placed them in the cars as people drove by. This act of kindness was not advertised, it was spur of the moment, so large groups of people were not drawn to the street they were on. What was a disaster for the greenhouse, turned into a bright spot in many people's otherwise subdued Easter holiday. It just goes to show the true generosity and resourcefulness of the human spirit in hard times. I am proud to be a member of a community with such thoughtful businessmen in it.
