Wink Ths story of this hat

About fouryears ago, a friend gave me a couple skeins of different yarns. It was a birthday present and the yarns are pretty. She doesn't knit or crochet, so she has no idea about quantity of yarn needed to make something wearable.

The yarn is Lion Brand Boucle. I didn't tell her "I don't do boucle." So, the yarn has been resting in my stash for quite awhile, and whilst I was browsing, decided it would be really nice as a hat.

I ran out of yarn before the hat was long enough, so I finished the hat using regular 4-ply yarn (probably Super Saver...and voila! I think it turned out great! Here's a picture of my lovely boucle hat.

The point is...if you run out of yarn before the project is finished, that doesn't mean it's going to remain unfinished. Get resourceful and finish up with something that blends in nicely.

Good point, and the hat looks so cute. But I really, really don't do boucle!

Boucle is more acceptable now that I go in the spaces between the stitches.

That did turn out nicely. I had never heard of that type of yarn but the picture is lovely.
