Smile An experiement. Need help & advice.

Regular acryllic yarn chafes my skin and I have a closet full of old silk dresses (I wear pants now) and want to cut them up into "ribbons" and crochet someting for the upper half of me. Cut on bias? Cut on straight? Crochet tight, loose? Give me some ideas. Anyone with some experience with this?

Personally, I think the idea is nice - It would depend on what you are wanting as to crochet loosely or more tightly. What are your thoughts? Will you be making a cover up? Or, a blouse?

That sounds like a great idea. I would be unsure of your ribbons fraying...? I have never personally done anything like that but I bet your finished project would have a really nice feel to it.

You would need to cut them on the bias so they wouldn't fray. I hope this helps! Hugs!
