    Sweet Ripple Afghan

I'm working on this pretty ripple afghan. I'm far from finished. I'm making it for my long-time best friend Nancy. She just bought new furniture for her house and I want to give her something special in the colors she loves. I'm making it with 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn in colors of cream, sage green and a variegated purple. It reminds me of purple African violets.

This is more of a "wavy" pattern not so much chevron with sharp lines. I ran across it on Pinterest. I'm attaching the link to this lady's web site. She has some very cool crochet stuff posted online!

The pattern is very simple. To begin your base chain, all you have to do is multiply the number of ripples you want by 14 and add 3 for your initial chain 3 and turn at the end. I'm doing mine with 13 ripples. All I had to do was chain 185 to start.

That's lovely, Shelly. I like that blog and love her work. I saved that pattern myself. I might mention that the gal is British, and the British Triple Crochet is really an American Double Crochet. So where she says, TR crochet, we would use DC crochet. She probably mentions that in the pattern, but I don't remember off hand.

I've made many ripples using a pattern that is more pointed, but am anxious to try this one.

Yes you're exactly right and I forgot to mention that! She's British and when her pattern says TR it's really a DC to us Americans. I hope you enjoy working up this pattern as much as I have. It's simple and easy and it's working up very fast for me.

Thank you for pointing that out!
