neat way to save stitches and hook

Working on an afghan I got tired of my hook falling out when I had to lay my work down... I came up with this solution . When crochet a project and you need to stop . To keep your hook from dropping out of article and last stitch ...weave the front of hook under about four stitches in the row below, push the hook forward...enough to weave the back of the hook through 4 or five stitches behind.... like a curtain rod...slid yarn out even on hook. . Everything will be locked in place and no more hook falling or find the last stitch made.

I just always pull up a big loop and put my project in my tote bag. I never innertwine my hook in my work. Seems like that would stretch out your stitches.

Good idea. Momma taught me to pull out a really big loop on my last stitch. That way I can see where I stopped and have never had any stitches pull out.

The big loop never stopped my sons. They just love pulling the yarn and watching it unravel. I've let them help me frog too many projects I guess.
