knit to crochet
I have come across many patterns that are knit that I would love to crochet. I don't knit and although I have tried..my years of crochet seem to want to take over
Does anyone know if there is a program or the how to's that will allow me to take a knit pattern and get the crochet pattern?
Thanks
Brenda

You know, I haven't seen any program that "translates" knitting to crocheting. Sometimes a pattern will have both sets of directions, though. Like you, I've tried to knit several times through the years, but it just didn't take with me. I much prefer to crochet.

Me, too. If you try it, please let us know how it worked!

I've found using tunisian crochet is more like knitting and if you want to get the cable type look using front post / back post crochet worked well. It was definantly a challenge though.

There is a book that was published in 2005 by the Needlecraft Shop called From Knit to Crochet, which shows stitches duplicated in crochet. It shows pictures of knit stitches, then the picture in the duplicate crochet stitch and then the crochet instructions. You may be able to see if your local library has it and if that is what you are looking for. Hope this helps.
