    edc stitch?

    Hi every one.
I came across a pattern with a stitch abbreviation of edc. Any one know what this is?

Extended double crochet-Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch or chain, yarn over and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 1 loop (1 chain made), [yarn over and draw through 2 loops] 2 times—1 edc completed.

SoDoris, I can only imagine that esc is extended single crochet...are these new stitches? or just a fancy term to put several stitches together in a grouping? I didn't go to my pattern as I am working something else right now so I am not sure how to work the stitch yet....

Yes Ms. Teri it is the extended single crochet, I try it and it's very easy so when you're ready to do your edc just follow the instructions Shelly gave you earlier or look it up on you tude and you can watch how's it done. Have a greeat week-end and happy hooking.

I just recently ran across the edc when making some crochet hearts, but that version was a little bit different. It gave the height without the bulk for that project. I found it on YouTube before I saw this here.
I love learning new stitches, even after 42 yrs. I am finding new ones, especially now since there weren't computers available back then.

    Happy stitching,
    Judi G
