Crochet Food in Sept 2013 issue of Food Network Magazine
I picked up the latest issue of Food Network Magazine the other day and finally got around to looking at it.
Well, on page 33, there is a one page piece on crocheted snacks, inspired by the Japanese art of Amigurumi. Shows a hot dog, hamburger and French fries.
Just wanted to share. Thought it was cool that crochet is in a food magazine.

That is neat! I've made a few amigurumi toy animals for my grandkids, but don't really have the patience to do it. It's not my favorite form of crochet, although it's really cute. I made a couple of teddy bears, but hated having to use stitch markers on every row, and then sewing on the arms and legs was not fun for me either. Some people love it, but it's not for me.

It doesn't thrill me either and I bought a kit on clearance to make some sea creatures for my grandkids. Just can't make myself start on them for some reason. LOL!!

Cute. I love amagurami. Thanks for the info, and I'll see if I can find that issue.

I once made up a pattern for my stepdaughter using scraps of yarn. I made a series of balls, each a different color and stuffed each with polyfill. Then I sewed them together in a line and attached buttons for eyes on the head and called it a caterpillar. She loved it.
