I too am Methodist , we make prayer shawls for sick and shuts ins, and when someone loses a loved one, in the community and I imagine the surrounding area, I really had never heard of them until our pastor asked us to start making them. All of the recipients have been really glad to receive them. The idea is to pray while working on them and therefore they are stitched with love...
