Desperately needing Ideas

Ok here it goes. I've got to make a cowboy set for a baby with cowboy hat, boots, chaps and vest. I've got the pattern already, but my co-worker wants a star and a flower that would be interchangeable for the hat. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to attach the star or flower so they won't flop around. Does anyone have any ideas?

one word..Velcro..lol ..I can't think of anything else unless you somehow tie it together and leaving ends in hat to tie and untie..some one else here might have a better way..I hope

I have seen the pin backs at WalMart & craft places like you use to make a ladie's brooch. You could attach one of them. Will it always be worn with the star or the flower, never plain? If so, you could use a small piece of velcro attached tour hat & each of the items. But if it is to be worn plain, no velcro.
In case you are interested, I have a hat pattern. It was in Crochet Today Jan/Feb 2013 issue. The pattern calls for red but our TwinFaye made it in pink. If you look back in the pictures, dig a little around Feb or March, she posted a picture of it. It fits a child. Size S- M or 19" to 21" circumference. It is really cute & turned out cute in pink, too.

Yes, I agree Velcro has come to mind. I just kind a wanted to see what other ideas everybody else has before I go that route. Thanks!

Janie mae that's just it. I don't know my co-workers daughter is a photographer. I figure if she decides to do a picture with just the plain hat the Velcro would show. The pin backs would be a great idea. I may just check that hat pattern out it may be better than the one I got. Thanks
