    I need help

    I want to crochet a ripple afghan so bad but my stitches never match up after second to fourth row what am I doing wrong?

    Just have to count as you go. Each pattern repeat across - count as you go and check stitches are where they should be.

    I agree with GrammaJoe you need to count stitches you are probable dropping a stitch here and there. When I crochet an afghan I use several stitch markers one about every 50 stitches. When I go to add a stitch marker, I look to see if they are lining up with the previous row, or in the case of my current afghan which is every 3rd row is the same I have color coded the stitch markers. If they are not lining up then I go and look for where I messed up and I only have to worry about the last 50 stitches

    Count, count, count. Also take care at turns and that you are ending in the right chain. I messed up a lot on my first ripple, but eventually got the hang of it. A good hint above, because it would really be nice not to have to rip out a whole row which can be very time consuming. Annette

    I mark the ends of my rows so I am sure to place my stitch in that last one. Otherwise, my ends are all wonky. Anything works to mark the stitch. Bobby pins, safety pins, an earring.

    Landon is has a good idea..but beyond that yes yes yes..count..I never could crochet straight till I counted..now I do ..guess that is the answer..lol.. good luck and happy counting...ps..yeah I hate counting..very much..but do it.
