Hi everyone. I'm new here. I'm a retired R.N. from CT. and have been crocheting for about 45 years, but there's still a lot I don't know and I'm sure I can learn some new things here. I currently am making afghans and shawls to donate to a local nursing/rehab center for Christmas gifts for the patients. I enjoy keeping my hands busy. I choose patterns which are neither complicated nor fancy so that I can produce more afghans and shawls in a relatively short period of time. For years I made hand made Christmas ornaments which I gave to co-workers and family. It's getting a bit more difficult to see the size 10 and size 30 thread so I'm concentrating on yarn. Am looking forward to new ideas and useful hints here!

Welcome to the group, I use to always crochet with thread. I loved making Christmas ornaments but can't crochet very good with thread anymore since I had a stroke.. But trying to make my daughter and Granddaughter some scarves out of the #3 thread, Isn't coming out very good though.. I am not crazy about making afghans, it takes so long, but am making a lapghan for my husband who is in a Nursing home. That is really nice making afghans for patients in the nursing home.. I know the really appreciate it.
