    Ruffled edging?

Does anyone have any type of ruffle-like edging pattern? I'm making a solid white baby blanket and am looking for a "ruffly" edging to put on it. Any ideas??

Here is a really pretty ruffled edge on a baby blanket. She has pictures and a tutorial on the blog. It also looks pretty simple to do:

    I do mine as follows:

    One row of SC

Make 5 DC in each SC stitch.

Depending on the yarn you can do more or less DC's in the SC's. Thinner yarn may require one or two more DC to ruffle. But I warn you that all ruffle edges are yarn eaters.

You can also use a bigger hook to make the DC to make it ruffle even more

Lol, you crack me up with the term "yarn eaters." And you are sure right about that. I like the method you posted. It looks nice and easy, even if it does take a lot of yarn.

LOL I am glad I gave you a smile! Here is what it looks like finished. This is a skip stitch fleece blanket that I made that exact way. I had to do I think 6 DC in each stitch because I used shimmer yarn which is a little thinner than worsted weight

THANKS a bunch!!! That's definitely what I've been looking for! (and, yup, I'm using 4ply yarn, so it'll definitely be a "yarn guzzler"!!! fringe, but will look great!) Thanks again!

Love your fleece blanket. Let me ask you....when you did the edging, did you poke holes for the crochet along the edge? If so, what did you make the holes with? Thank you

Oops, don't know what happened with that double post above.

    Hi

I used a skip stitch blade. You just put in a 45 mm rotary cutter and go along the edge and it makes perfect crochet holes. I am a distributor for them These fleece blankets are so fun and stress free. We also have them for flannel.

Thanks for the link to your shop. That blade does look like it would do the trick. I'm putting it on my "wish list."
