Nope- it's a punch crochet hook that you can surface crochet on canvas, or jeans. I saw it on a blog, didn't save it and now I'd like to yarn bomb my hightops...

My Mother had a needle in her things and somone called it an all. It had thread in it and she did a lot of decorative stitches with it but I don't know if was considered a crochet needle. She said they used it on leather. Hope you find somone that can tell you. I still have Mom's but I don't know just where. Do you have one or looking for one?

It is a Sharp Crochet Hook and can be purchased on-line, just Google for it. Presently it comes in only size #7. A book comes with the hook and as you will see most of the patterns are for size #10, 5 & 3 threads. Also, the hook is extremly short, making it uncomfortable to use. I made a nice handle by cutting the end off of a fat-handled toothbrush. The procedure is too much to type on this message board, but if you are interested just send me an email and I will give you the steps for making this extremely strong and comfortable handle. Once in a while thinking outside the box will actually work for me!
