Yes, he will be missed by all country fans, myself included. I especially like "He Stopped Loving Her Today." What a great country song. When it comes on the radio in my car, I always crank up the volume and sing along.

Yes, he was a legend. I hadn't heard he died until I saw it here. He did live life to the fullest. He inspired many people coming after him. We can't forget the years he was married to & recorded with Tammy Wynette either. I was a kid but remember those two singing together. There was nothing like it & will be nothing like it again. He never made a song I didn't like, he was one of my favorites, and Tammy Wynette was one of the best female singers.. Female singers today don't even know what country sounds like. They are in the Pop catagorie.
    May both RIP

Growing up he was one of my dads favorites! Last summer I came across a yard sale that had so many of his tapes and a whole bunch of others that were my dads favorites I only bought 30 of them I wish I would have went to the bank and bought more! I gave all but 1 of the tapes to my dad and he listens to them all the time! Right now I can't think of all of the singers that were on the tapes but the song that Tammy Wynette and he sung together is on there! My dad can name everyone and has a story for them all he seems to know their whole life stories! LOVE YOUR FRIEND MANDA!

He was one of my Favorites, also.. And second was Conway Twitty.
I lived in Nashville when He was married to Tammy Wynette, and they were always in the news about his excapades. I don't know how he lived to be 81 and still look so good.
