    Irish Lace Anyone?

Teaching myself to do Irish Lace is my latest obsession. So far I've pretty much started with the easy motifs and patterns. Translating patterns from the early 1900's to modern terms is hard work Here are a few of my projects:

The Rosette on a squared background is from the Antique Pattern Library. The headbands are not Irish Lace, though they are certainly lacy enough, but I added rosettes, leaf sprays and a violet motif to them in Irish Lace.

Does any one else here do Irish Lace? I've been limiting myself to using size 10 thread so far, size 10 for the PC when I used it, would love some recommendations for patterns to try to improve my skill in this area.

More info on the headband, pattern found here at Bits&Bobbles It called for ww yarn, but I used a size 5 hook (1.9mm) and size 10 thread, it worked fine, though it took 100 rows to fit my head LOL

What book did you get? I've saved some of the antique patterns to my computer but haven't even thought about buying a book yet. I'd love to take a class with Máire Treanor, but for now I'll muddle along I guess.
