Help... adding a name

Hi all,

I am making a baby blanket for my sister's new baby due in June and want to add the baby's name to the bottom of the blanket. I have never done this. How do I add a name.

What sort of pattern are you using? if it is a filet crochet, then you could use a piece of graph paper, place an x in each square that you want filled, making the letters appear. Each open square would represent a dc, "ch", dc. Each square with an x would represent the " ch " being replaced with a dc. Not sure if this helps. - janine

It is a pattern from redheart LW2503. I am trying to attach the pattern but cannot. Not sure what filet crocheting is.

Um...filet crocheting is filling in squares w/ thread/yarn to make, well like you want a name....if you look at my picture it was done filet crochet stitch...it was done in thread but you can do it in yarn...hope this helps...happy crocheting.
